Professional Experience:
1986 - 1990: Worked with the Ministry of Lands and Settlement as a Valuer in charge of Meru, Isiolo and Marsabit Districts.
1990 - 1994: Proprietor of Cosmo Valuers, a firm of Valuers, Estate and Management Consultants.
1994 - to date Director of Metrocosmo Valuers Limited.
1998 - 1999: Chairman - (Valuers & Estate Agents Chapter).
1998: Examiner with Institution of Surveyors of Kenya (Valuers Chapter).
1999 - March 2003: Chairman - Institution of Surveyors of Kenya (I.S.K).
During his tenure, he propelled the Institution to both National and International lime-light. The climax was the hosting of the International F.I.G Congress in Nairobi in October 2001.
2005 - August -
November: Lead Consultant in the preparation and drafting of the Valuation Act of the Republic of Tanzania.
Other Professional Activities:
Researched and compiled topical papers on Real Estate for presentation on various local and international conferences as follows:-
(i) Towards understanding valuation profession in Kenya.
(ii) Fake documents and their effects in Real Estate in Kenya.
(iii) Valuation for Auction Purposes in Kenya.
(iv) Appraisal of land inconsistent with cadastral records. The research paper was presented to TIVEA/AFRES Conference in Arusha on 7th November 2001 and FIG Conference in Washington DC on 10TH May 2002.
Organized the following Seminars for of the Institution of Surveyors of Kenya during his tenure as the chairman of the institution:-
• 30th October 1998: Synchronizing the professional thinking in valuation practice in Kenya today.
• 5th March 1999: The Estate Agency Practice in Kenya - which way forward?
• 10th December 1999: Surveying Profession in the Year 2000 and Beyond.
• 3rd March 2000: Valuation Profession in the New Millennium.
• 3rd to 5thOctober 2001: Organized I.S.K - F.I.G - UNEP - Habitat International Conference on Spatial Information for sustainable Development in Nairobi, Kenya.
