Assistant Athletic Director of Facilities and Operations

Summary:

The Assistant Athletic Director of Facilities and Operations oversees the scheduling, maintenance, and operations of the College's athletic and recreational facilities. This role is responsible for all home athletic contest operations, supervising equipment room staff and student employees. Additionally, the position coordinates event logistics, and facility projects to ensure safety, quality, and efficiency across all department-managed spaces.

Essential Departmental Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Oversees scheduling, maintenance, and operations for all athletic and recreational facilities, including special events, rentals, and team practices.
  • Manages all aspects of game-day logistics, including student employee scheduling, coordinating all game personnel, visiting team accommodations, hosting officials, security, ticket sales and event setup.
  • Assists the Associate Athletic Director with concession stand logistics.
  • Equipment Room oversight ensuring compliance with NCAA and NCAC standards.
  • Over sees the day-to-day operation and scheduling of employees for LC Boles Golf Course.
  • Serves as a liaison to the following campus partners:
    • Building and Grounds
    • Facility Maintenance
    • Campus Events
    • Security
  • Collaborates with administration on facility planning, capital projects, and budgeting needs.
  • Serves as Tournament Manager for NCAA/NCAC events and primary security liaison for athletic facilities.
  • Completes the NCAA bid process to host championships.
  • Serves on the Departments Leadership Team and Scheduling Committee and other committees as appropriate.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor degree required and master's degree (M. A.) preferred.
    Four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    Must have valid driver's license.
    Understanding of athletic equipment.
    Familiarity with NCAA equipment and facility regulations.
    Knowledge athletic facility/project management.

  • Skilled in Microsoft Excel, Word, and scheduling software; able to quickly learn new systems, including the College purchasing system.

Work Environment:
  • While performing the duties of this job, the staff member occasionally works near moving mechanical parts; in outside weather conditions; and is exposed to wet or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals.
  • The job requires work in outdoor weather and exposure to vibration or electrical shock.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
