Kane Brewing Company is an award-winning production brewery in Ocean Township, NJ. Since 2011, Kane Brewing and its sister company, Kane Distributing, have been developing and delivering innovative, high-quality products. As an Assistant Retail Manager for our tasting room, you will create a welcoming and positive environment by maintaining a clean, organized, and well-maintained space. You will bring detailed knowledge of Kane Brewing's products and oversee part-time Tasting Room Associates, ensuring they deliver engaging and educational experiences about our brand, history, and the craft brewing process. You will provide exceptional, hospitable customer service and uphold Kane Brewing’s standards by ensuring the beer served represents the highest quality. Your leadership will foster a comforting atmosphere that enhances customer satisfaction and promotes Kane Brewing’s values.

As an Assistant Retail Manager, you should have:

  • Proven ability to lead and manage a team of part-time hospitality associates.
  • Solid customer service and hospitality skills, with a self-motivated and detail-oriented approach.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience is preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing safety and customer experience, with flexibility for nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Physical capability to lift 55 lbs and occasionally move up to 165 kg, along with a passion for or willingness to learn about craft beer and brewing.

Your key responsibilities as the Assistant Retail Manager will include:

  • Directly serve customers and provide a high standard of service and consistency.
  • Tap necessary kegs and check all taps for leaks.
  • Display merchandise in a clean, organized fashion.
  • Fully stock merchandise and “to-go beer”.
  • Maintain merchandise, cold box, and overstock organization.
  • Update menu boards.
  • Maintain retail POS systems, count drawers, divide tips, etc.
  • Ensure the tasting room is clean and orderly for opening.
  • Oversee part-time tasting room staff and assist in scheduling.
