Job Description

Company Description

At OatFi, we’re building the complete API infrastructure for B2B payment platforms to embed and monetize working capital solutions. We’re dedicated to enhancing financial access for SMBs, and supporting the ongoing paradigm shift happening in B2B payments.

By leveraging OatFi’s API, platform partners empower commercial end-users with the tools needed to collapse their cashflow conversion cycles, supporting organic growth while shepherding billions in offline payments volume online.

We are a fast-growing company offering an opportunity for the right candidate to join at the ground floor. At OatFi, you will have the chance to shape the future of fintech and make a significant impact from day one.

Job Description

As Chief of Staff to the CEO at OatFi, you’ll be a core member of the executive team and play a pivotal role in OatFi’s long-term success by driving day-to-day operations, building high-performing teams, and creating scalable processes to take the company to its next billion in origination volume.

You’ll serve as the CEO’s right hand—unlocking extreme operational leverage and ensuring priorities are executed efficiently and effectively. This is a unique opportunity to work directly with the CEO and gain full visibility into the inner workings of a fast-growing, Series A fintech startup.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in ambiguity and is ready to tackle any challenge—big or small.

Responsibilities

Company Strategy and Special Projects

  • Work with the executive team to define strategic goals and collaborate with team leads to measure success and company performance.
  • Lead the 0-to-1 buildout of new non-technical teams (e.g., Support, Operations, Partner Success).
  • Oversee special projects directly mandated by the CEO.
  • Identify and execute initiatives that drive significant operational leverage across the organization—especially for the CEO.

Strategic Finance and FP&A

  • Own and maintain OatFi’s operating model and investor-facing financial models.
  • Partner with the CEO and Finance team to help with planning and budgeting.
  • Ensure accurate tracking and reporting of strategic KPIs.

Investor and Board

  • Prepare CEO- and Board-level presentations and reports, including quarterly, mid-year, and year-end updates, as well as ad hoc strategic materials.
  • Work closely with the CEO to support future fundraising strategy, process, and execution.

People

  • Facilitate org-wide bi-annual performance reviews and foster a culture centered on feedback and transparency.
  • Execute the company’s recruiting strategy, managing job descriptions, screening candidates, and coordinating interviews.
  • Lead onboarding and training for all new hires, including creation of 30/60/90-day plans.

Office Management and Operations

  • Champion a company-wide culture aligned with OatFi’s core values.
  • Manage NYC office operations—including office expansions, new hire equipment setup, and maintaining a strong in-office culture.
  • Plan and execute team offsites and onsites.
  • Organize team-building events such as happy hours, dinners, and lunches.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in investment banking, management consulting, private equity, corporate strategy and development, or related industries
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., CS, engineering, math, business, finance, or economics)
  • Mastery in excel and experience building complex financial models
  • Proven ability to manage multiple cross-functional initiatives with strong project management skills
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; able to distill complex information for executive and investor audiences

  • Exposure to financial services and a strong understanding of various lending and trade finance products
  • Proficiency in SQL
  • Familiarity with different tech systems and software like Hubspot, Sigma, Snowflake, and Jira
