Operational Technical Services (OTS) is one of the fastest-growing private water and wastewater utility staffing providers in the country. We provide certified water treatment, distribution, wastewater treatment, collections, engineering, laboratory, water quality, maintenance, and training professionals to municipalities, special districts, and private utilities throughout the country. POSITION: Chief Plant Operator Wastewater Treatment Plant

SCHEDULE: 7 AM- 4 PM, Monday - Friday

SALARY: $90,000-$110,000

JOB SUMMARY:

Reporting directly to the Area Operations Manager and/or Regional Director, the Chief Plant Operator has full responsibility for the successful operation and maintenance of the assigned facility(s).

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

• Operate and maintain a wastewater treatment facility
• Supervise and manage operation & maintenance personnel assigned to the facility
• Manages implementation and ongoing utilization of the company's Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for tracking Asset Management
• Interact with regulatory agencies and clients
• Analyze and resolve problems with process and/or equipment
• Review lab tests and interpret data
• Create and distribute client, regulatory, and operating data reports
• Prepare and coordinate regulatory programs as required
• Maintain compliance with regulatory permits
• Oversee and perform process adjustments to maintain treatment process compliance
• Perform other duties and participate in the operation of other facilities on a limited basis as needed
• Know and understand contractual obligations and deliverables for each respective facility
• Manage operations budget for the facility
• Client Interface including attending monthly operations meetings
• Prepare Monthly Operations Reports
• Manage Capital Replacement projects specific to assigned facility
• Facilitate Facility Tours
• Promote and adhere to the corporate Safety program
• Maintain acceptable attendance per standards
• Communicate any problems/issues to management
• All other tasks as assigned by the Regional Director

KNOWLEDGE OF

1. General computer knowledge; good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, CMMS program used on-site
2. Excellent teamwork and communication skills to enable effective interaction with and supervision of personnel. Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
3. Physical:

• Body Positions: Standing and/or Sitting for extended periods of time, walking on uneven terrain around Facilities.
• Body Movements: Use of hands, legs, eyes, arms, and voice.
• Must be able to climb up and down stairs and ladders.
• Must be able to climb on, or into facility equipment and systems (Confined Space Training required).
• Willingness to travel is a plus.

1. Mental:

• Language ability includes reading, writing, spelling, and the ability to communicate
• Clearly on business topics in English.

ABILITY TO

Ability to obtain a Grade IV CA Wastewater Certification within 1 year. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

1. Grade III Wastewater Certification
2. 5 years prior supervisory experience required
3. Minimum 10 years of previous experience in water resource facility operations
4. Valid state-issued driver’s license

MUST HAVES FOR ROLE:

• Utility Pants: Employees must wear durable utility pants suitable for the work environment.
• Safety Shoes: Steel-toed or other appropriate safety shoes are mandatory to protect against workplace hazards.
• Candidates must consent to and pass a background check and drug screening as part of the hiring process.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
