Sagamore Children’s Psychiatric Center (SCPC); a Joint Commission accredited Office of Mental Health (OMH) facility, is recruiting a Deputy Director, Psychiatric Center 1 - Quality Management (DDPC 1 - QM) to oversee their Quality Management Program.
The DDPC 1 - QM is an essential member of the facility's Executive Management Team. Under the general direction of the Executive Director and in close collaboration with the facility leadership team at SCPC, the DDPC 1 – QM participates in developing, implementing, interpreting, and evaluating the facility's mission, goals, and policies and how they impact the care and clinical treatment provided to the individuals and families they serve.

About SCPC
SCPC is an intermediate care facility that provides mental health treatment to children and adolescents, ages 5 – 17, with serious emotional and psychiatric disturbances in Nassau and Suffolk counties on Long Island. Located in Dix Hills, NY, SCPC provides an integrated, family-based inpatient psychiatric treatment program with the goal of returning children to their families with minimal disruption. In addition to SCPC’s inpatient facility, they provide a network of outpatient services, including school-based mental health clinics, intensive day treatment programs, children’s mobile integration teams, community-based programs, and crisis respite programs. SCPC focuses on delivering the best clinical practices in a safe and therapeutic setting.

Minimum Qualifications:
Candidates who meet either of the qualifications listed below (Option #1 or Option #2) are eligible to apply:
Option #1
A. Education
A master’s degree in a mental hygiene discipline, hospital or health administration, or other administrative area specifically related to health care, sociology, statistics, or quantitative research; or a license to practice medicine in New York State or Canada.
AND
B. Experience
Six (6) years of experience in a mental health program or health care setting that includes one of the following:
1. Four (4) years of managerial experience in one quality management component area, such as program evaluation, clinical risk management, standards compliance, survey readiness, utilization review, or a closely related area; or
2. Three (3) years of managerial experience in two of the above quality management component areas; or
3. Two (2) years of managerial experience in three of the above quality management component areas.
Option #2
A. Education
A Master's degree in a mental hygiene discipline (including physician assistant, occupational therapy, physical therapy, social work, speech pathology and audiology, communication disorders, psychology, recreation therapy, rehabilitation counseling, education, nursing), hospital administration, community mental health, business or public administration or other administrative area specifically related to health care, behavioral or social science from an accredited school; or a valid license to practice medicine in New York State or Canada.
AND
B. Experience
Six (6) years of administrative, consultative, or supervisory experience in a mental health program, two (2) years of which must have been managerial experience, including one or more of the following:
1. One (1) year of experience in a position as the administrative head of a multidisciplinary treatment team;
OR
2. One (1) year of professional, supervisory, or administrative experience in the development, operation, and/or implementation of the mental health service delivery system for State facilities, counties, local, or private agencies in two or more of the following areas: program development, management procedures, community organization, resource planning, funding, program proposals, advisory boards, consumer and community advocacy, and intergovernmental relations.
Additionally, all candidates must be eligible to participate in Federal health care programs (e.g., Medicaid). Individuals excluded from participation in these programs will not be considered.
