Equity Research Analyst

Our client, a leading global trading firm, is looking for an equity research analyst to join their equities desk after exceptional profitability and growth. As an equity research analyst, you will play a vital role in developing trading strategies and influencing position decisions directly from the trading desk. You will take ownership of research-driven trading strategies, directly contributing to PnL. This is a unique opportunity with fast-track progression, working with one of the top portfolio managers in the industry.

Key Responsibilities:

• Leverage your sector knowledge and insights into market events to drive trading decisions and uncover new opportunities.
• Partner with Traders, Researchers, and Quants to develop innovative solutions and execute on high-impact ideas.
• Identify and assess event-driven trading opportunities, working closely with the trading team to optimize PnL outcomes.
• Conduct scenario analyses for upcoming events, evaluate time-sensitive news, and anticipate the effects on volatility and stock prices for companies in your coverage area.
• Enhance the capabilities of the fundamental research function by designing processes to capitalize on research-based trading ideas.

Qualifications:

• Prior research experience at a proprietary trading firm, bank or hedge fund.
• Proven experience in developing trading strategies.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Strong mathematical and statistical background.
