Job Description

Are you passionate about the culinary arts and exceptional service? Ashland Hills Hotel is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Restaurant Manager to lead our restaurant operations. Position Summary: The Restaurant Manager will support the restaurant operation, uphold established cost and quality standards, ensure superior service, and maximize restaurant profits.

Essential Functions

  • Interview, hire, and supervise staff.
  • Train service staff in food and beverage service standards.
  • Schedule staff in alignment with business needs and management goals.
  • Conduct performance reviews and develop staff skills to meet service and quality goals.
  • Coach, counsel, and discipline staff as needed.
  • Assign and follow up on work duties and side work.
  • Resolve customer issues and complaints.
  • Assist with menu and beverage planning.
  • Monitor and maximize profitability by managing labor, food, and beverage costs.
  • Perform and oversee all inventories, including wine, liquor, china, glassware, and silverware.
  • Control inventory and maintain adequate supplies.
  • Ensure financial margins meet budget expectations.
  • Comply with weekly and monthly forecasting procedures.
  • Be present on the floor and assist staff during meal periods.
  • Organize daily pre-shift meetings for effective communication.
  • Ensure sanitation and safety programs meet OSHA standards.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor at all times.
  • Foster a safe working environment and report unsafe conditions.
  • Maintain a positive working relationship with all departments.
  • Adhere to all property policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of two years of progressive experience in high-quality food and beverage operations; one year of management experience preferred.
  • Possession of government-required licenses or certificates.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for guest satisfaction and strong verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in computer applications.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, maintain a professional appearance, work as part of a team, communicate effectively, and perform well under pressure.

Physical Requirements

  • 6-8 hours of standing/walking.
  • 3-6 hours of reaching/grasping.
  • 1-3 hours of pushing/pulling, lifting/carrying (up to 25 lbs.), crouching/bending/stooping.
  • Up to 1 hour of sitting and climbing stairs.
