Candidate will support the Environmental Law Division (ELD) of US Army Legal Services Agency (USALSA) by working on the multitude of cases of Army Ammunition Plants, Government Owned Contractor Operated (GOCO) sites that fall under the Superfund and RCRA statutes of Environmental Law.
Candidate will also work on research of per and polyfluorualkyl substances (PFAS) contamination sites and the relevant environmental statutes.
Work will involve legal research, document review/management, database management/review, case preparation, meetings with attorneys, memos and presentations.
Position is currently hybrid with 2 days a week in the office (in Ft. Belvoir, VA) and 3 days remote.
Qualifications:
Must be able to obtain and maintain MRPT facility credentials/authorization. US Citizenship is required for MRPT facility credentials/authorization at this work location.
At least 2 years’ experience working in litigation support.
Experience with Westlaw, Lexis Nexis research tools as well as CaseMap, Concordance and Relativity platforms.
Strong communication and writing skills.
Ability to manage multiple cases at one time.
Knowledge of Environmental Law, Superfund and RCRA statutes will be helpful.
Ability to work with minimal supervision and take initiative.
Comfort working in a military environment.
