Job Description

Seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Resident Manager to oversee the daily operations of a brand-new luxury residential building in Bergen, NJ. The ideal candidate will have prior experience working in luxury rental buildings, along with a strong background in facilities management and mechanical systems.

This is a brand new role, where you would have the opportunity to hire for a maintenance staff that would report directly to you.

This role also offers a live-in apartment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the operation, maintenance, and repair of building systems, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry.
  • Coordinate with external contractors and service providers for specialized repairs and maintenance projects.
  • Ensure that the building adheres to all safety regulations and building codes, implementing and overseeing safety protocols for residents and staff.
  • Respond quickly and efficiently to emergencies, such as mechanical failures or safety hazards.
  • Perform regular inspections of all buildings, common areas, and surrounding grounds to identify any maintenance needs, safety concerns, or repairs.
  • Oversee landscaping, snow removal, and general upkeep of exterior spaces to ensure a clean, well-maintained appearance.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for residents, addressing any issues related to maintenance or building operations.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in building management, facilities maintenance for a luxury rental building
  • Strong technical skills in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC systems.
  • Thorough understanding of building safety standards, building codes, and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to maintenance and repairs.
  • Ability to supervise and train staff on maintenance procedures and safety standards.
  • Experience with budget management and capital improvement planning is a plus.
