Medical Assistant

Full time (Monday - Friday 9 to 5)

Fairfax County, VA

Job Summary As a Medical Assistant you will provide support to our licensed medical providers in clinical and surgical settings, delivering high-quality, compassionate care that puts our patients first.

Duties and Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • Advocate for patients during exams and treatments.
  • Obtain and record medical history, vitals, and medications.
  • Prepare rooms and patients for examinations and procedures.
  • Assist physicians with exams, treatments, surgical procedures, and medical emergencies.
  • Administer medications and collect lab specimens as directed.
  • Provide patient education on treatments, medications, and post-care instructions.
  • Maintain sterile techniques, clean exam rooms, and properly dispose of biohazard waste.
  • Schedule appointments and coordinate tests/admissions with medical facilities.
  • Manage inventory and ensure medical equipment is operational.
  • Accurately document all procedures and respond to emergencies per protocol.
  • Adhere to policies and procedures while upholding high-quality care and customer service.
  • Perform additional duties as needed.

Experience Requirements:

  • 1+ year in a medical setting (preferred).
  • Medical assistant certification (preferred).

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, sterile techniques, anatomy, and medications.
  • Detail-oriented, professional, and reliable.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
  • Basic to intermediate computer skills; experience with electronic medical records (EMA & NextGen) is a plus.
  • Understanding of HIPAA regulations and state/federal healthcare guidelines.
  • Bilingual language skills are advantageous.
  • Team-oriented mindset to collaborate effectively with staff.
