General Overview

The Mortgage Closer, Team Lead, plays a pivotal role in leading the closing and post-closing teams. This position is responsible for ensuring loans are closed efficiently and in compliance with regulatory and investor requirements. The role involves managing a pipeline of Loan Officers, identifying training needs, refining processes as necessary, and overseeing the preparation and accuracy of reports. The Team Lead maintains strong communication with customers, sales partners, and the Operations Manager to guarantee timely and seamless loan fulfillment while contributing to the organization’s sales and service objectives.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and guidance to the Closing and Post-Closing teams.
• Monitor team compliance with investor and government regulations and manage daily workflows.
• Prepare and send closing instructions while reviewing HUD-1 Settlement Statements to ensure adherence to guidelines.
• Oversee the timely closing and shipment of loans by utilizing reporting tools.
• Verify that underwriting and funding conditions are met per underwriting approval.
• Collect essential documentation for the preparation of closing documents and disbursement of funds.
• Review pend notifications from investors to identify patterns of errors and address root causes.
• Train and mentor team members; may provide informal supervisory support (excluding hiring/termination decisions).
• Act as a key resource for colleagues, offering expertise and support as needed.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 5-8 years of related experience in the mortgage industry.
• Proficiency with Encompass software.
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

*** Pay: $20-27/hr (Compensation can vary depending on experience)
