SUMMARY

The Quality Control Manager is responsible for the effective implementation of U.S. Government, Educational Entities, and Commercial contract requirements for quality control and quality assurance in design and construction activities to achieve the prescribed levels of quality and safety. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review the contract and design drawings, specifications and other documentation, and establish full familiarity with the design and technical requirements for each Project.
  • Prepare and/or adhere to the Contractor’s Quality Control Plan, ensure on time submittals to the customer and ensure approval is obtained.
  • Execute the Quality Control Program on site and follow the specified quality procedures and three-phase inspections.
  • Maintain complete and updated quality control documentation and records, both electronically and physically, following all security protocols mandated by the Government and the project team.
  • Maintain and update a set of “Red-Lined As-built Drawings & Records” during the course of construction at all times on the project site. Prepare and submit the Final As-Built Documentation after contract completion as required by the customer.
  • Inspect and perform material and equipment testing coordination and control.
  • Perform and supervise inspection and testing activities to ensure high quality and high technical integrity.
  • Liaise and coordinate with the Client and involved customer representatives, and project management team of our Clients, for all aspects related to quality control and quality assurance.
  • Liaise and coordinate with subcontractors and work closely with partners for all aspects related to quality control and quality assurance.
  • Formulate, document and maintain quality control standards and on-going quality control objectives.
  • Manage and review the submittals and the submittal register.
  • Check material, design , coordination drawings, shop and as-built drawings.
  • May be required to manage a team of quality control inspectors and technicians.
  • Other duties as assigned by the company executives.

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE, AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must be able to pass a public trust and security background investigation for site access.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience implementing construction quality control programs for similar projects.
  • Must be proficient in project management tools and software.
  • Must be willing to work in the Ladson, SC and travel to Washington, DC as needed.
  • Must be able and willing to work night shifts, after-hours shifts, weekends and holidays.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Experience operating as the Quality Control Manager on high valued projects over $25M.
  • OSHA 30 certified.
  • Previous experience in the US Government projects a plus.
  • Completion of USACE course entitled “Construction Quality Management for Contractors” or an equivalent is a plus.
  • PMP or other project management/construction management certification is a plus.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE  

Requires a bachelor’s degree fr om an accredited institution in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Quality Control, or possesses sufficient field experience, skills. and abilities; or ten (10) years of successful related experience or training in quality management of which two (2) years are in supervisory/managerial capacity; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
