About Connect Media: Connect Media is an integrated media platform providing news, information, marketing services, and live and digital events to the commercial real estate and investment/finance communities across the US and Canada. We’re seeking a creative, detail-oriented Event Producer to work with the team and contribute to our event and business development needs. We’re a small and very efficient group. Our team members wear many hats, and there is plenty of room for advancement within the company.

Our Event Producer will be critical in planning, producing, generating revenue for, and

executing live events. Tasks will be focused on driving revenue through the creation of top-quality

products that attract attendees and sponsors to our conferences.

Position will sit in the LA office (located in Glendale)

Responsibilities:

  • Research and develop commercial real estate and financial services conference topic ideas and trends to assess viability for both local and national events
  • Work with industry executives and the conference/editorial/sales teams to develop usable and salable agendas
  • Evaluate opportunities for program enhancements and new product development
  • Meet with industry leaders and panelists to secure keynote and panel/presentation speakers
  • Work with sales team to solicit and confirm sponsors and exhibitors and develop hit lists and strategies to drive personal sales
  • Collaborate with the team to develop a marketing strategy and execute on the strategy via emails, social media, trade agreements, retargeting, etc.
  • Manage the overall event process, including timelines, budgets and marketing and keep the sales team and marketing team informed and held to deadlines
  • Responsible for copywriting, proofing, and editing marketing, including emails, brochures, digital and print ads
  • Lead initiative for venue sourcing & outreach, as well as event logistics to include but not limited to: menu selection, AV orders, budget tracking, temp hiring, collateral, and run of show creation
  • Send sponsor packets and communicate with clients for registrations, materials, logistics, etc.
  • Ongoing communication with speakers and sponsors throughout the planning stages
  • Prepare and ship all conference materials to events
  • Onsite participation at events
  • Creation and distribution of speaker thank you letters

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of content development experience in the conference industry
  • At least 5 years of event planning experience (logistics, budget management)
  • Must possess an intricate knowledge of content development and deadline-focused management
  • Must be detail-oriented and able to multitask under tight deadlines
  • Should be a strategic thinker who can identify emerging trends, markets and new streams of revenue
  • Familiarity with event marketing and business development highly preferred
  • Experience in commercial real estate and/or finance industries
  • Must have the ability to establish relationships with professionals at all levels, both within Connect Media, as well as in the commercial real estate and investment/finance industries
  • Superior organizational, creative, writing, communication, and presentation skills
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, team-oriented startup environment
  • Professional demeanor
  • Proficiency using MS Word, Outlook and Excel
  • Experience with HubSpot a plus
  • Experience with WordPress a plus
