Job Summary:

Our client is seeking a Senior DevOps/Cloud Engineer to join their team! This position is located in Denver, Colorado.

Duties:

• Design, develop, and maintain infrastructure as code solutions, with a strong preference for Terraform
• Administer and manage AWS or other enterprise cloud provider infrastructure accounts
• Build, monitor, and troubleshoot complex issues within the EMR framework
• Work extensively with big data technologies such as Hive and Spark
• Implement strategies to optimize spot fleet utilization and reduce cloud costs
• Apply and enforce least privilege control models across cloud resources
• Design and implement Lambda functions and Kinesis Firehose data streams
• Utilize ticketing systems like JIRA for issue tracking and management
• Leverage GitLab for CI/CD pipeline development and merge request processes

Desired Skills/Experience:

• Advanced proficiency in Python or Java
• Advanced experience with Infrastructure as Code with a strong preference for Terraform
• Proven experience as an administrator for AWS or other enterprise cloud provider infrastructure accounts
• Strong understanding of customer service principles and the ability to interact professionally with stakeholders
• Demonstrated ability to build and review complex issues within the EMR framework
• Solid experience with Hive and Spark
• Experience in Lambda design and implementation
• Proficiency in using GitLab for CI/CD and merge request workflows
