Job Description

An established and rapidly expanding engineering firm with over 50 years of experience is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join its growing team in Hoboken, NJ. This position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of projects in sectors such as healthcare, higher education, commercial, and industrial facilities, with a strong focus on energy efficiency and sustainable design.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and development of electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring compliance with industry codes, client standards, and sustainability goals.
  • Oversee and mentor junior engineers and designers, providing technical guidance and professional development.
  • Perform engineering calculations, load analysis, and energy efficiency assessments.
  • Coordinate with mechanical, plumbing, and architectural teams to ensure integrated building designs.
  • Conduct field assessments, site visits, and construction administration, including reviewing submittals and responding to RFIs.
  • Prepare technical reports, specifications, and construction documents using AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, codes, and emerging technologies, particularly in energy-efficient design and decarbonization initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred (or ability to obtain).
  • 7+ years of experience in electrical design for MEP building systems.
  • Strong knowledge of NEC, local building codes, and energy efficiency standards.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and electrical design software.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to lead projects from concept to completion.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience working directly with clients and project teams.
