CDL Employee Shuttle Driver

Seasonal Position (April - September)
Location: Icy Strait Point, Alaska

About the Role:

As a CDL Employee Shuttle Driver, you will be responsible for safely and reliably transporting employees to and from Icy Strait Point during morning and evening shifts. With approximately 3-4 hours in the morning and 3-4 hours in the evening, this split-shift position offers flexible hours while ensuring our team members arrive safely and on time. Hours may vary based on operational needs.

What You'll Do:

• Drive responsibly, ensuring safety is your top priority for all passengers and equipment.
• Deliver a first-class experience to employees, guests, and visitors through professional and friendly service.
• Maintain vehicles in excellent operating condition by completing pre- and post-trip inspections and cleaning as needed.
• Communicate with the Compliance Specialist for vehicle maintenance needs.
• Track employee headcounts to ensure no one is left behind at any stop.
• Assist passengers with getting on and off the bus when needed.
• Share your knowledge about Icy Strait Point's offerings, including its history, tours, dining, retail venues, and local attractions.
• Participate in training sessions and assist with cleaning other vehicles when required.
• Follow Icy Strait Point’s guiding principles: Best, Authentic, and Profitable Tour Destination .

What We're Looking For:

• Required:
  • Valid CDL driver’s license.
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate professionally and warmly.
  • Ability to learn, retain, and share general information about Icy Strait Point.
• Preferred:
  • Familiarity or willingness to learn about Tlingit culture.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Driver for Hire card.

Physical & Work Environment Requirements:

• Comfortable sitting for extended periods.
• Willing to work long hours during peak season with limited time off.
• Capable of traveling via small plane or ferry to a remote location.
• Able to walk or drive on gravel roads in varying weather conditions.
• Must meet maximum weight guidelines for the vehicle.
