Job Description

We are seeking experienced Title Examiners.

Title Examiners will support a department that specializes in reviewing real estate title documents, providing clear title reports, and identifying the person(s) responsible for delinquent property taxes.

As a Title Examiner, you will play a critical role in the process by reviewing title examination materials, creating detailed run sheets, and compiling indexed abstracts of all recorded documents that affect the title to a tract of land for a specified period. You will also provide key information regarding property owners, filed liens, and the legal description of properties under delinquent tax accounts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Obtain title examination materials and review document information.
• Create run sheets that index and abstract all recorded documents affecting property titles.
• Provide detailed information regarding property ownership, filed liens, and legal descriptions.
• Ensure accuracy in interpreting court cases and legal documents impacting real estate titles.
• Work independently, maintaining high reliability and attention to detail.

Required Qualifications:

• Experience: Minimum of 1-3 years of title examining experience required; 3-5 years preferred.
• Skills: Strong ability to read, interpret, and research legal documents (wills, divorce decrees, estate documents, etc.).
• Technical Proficiency: Experience with Title Data, Inc. for title research is a must.
• Attention to Detail: Ability to meticulously research documents and identify property ownership and legal obligations.
• Additional Requirements: Realtor or mortgage industry experience in property title research will not be considered sufficient. In-depth legal document review skills are essential.
