Job Description

Pierro, Connor & Strauss, LLC is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Trust & Estates Paralegal to join our team in our Midtown, Manhattan office. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our attorneys in managing the administration of estates, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations as well as assisting with preparation of estate planning documents. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of probate procedures, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. $75,000 - $90,000 yearly

• Manage the entire estate administration process from inception to closure.
• Prepare and file probate documents, petitions, and related court forms.
• Coordinate communication with courts, clients, beneficiaries, and other relevant parties.
• Conduct legal research on probate laws, regulations, and case precedents.
• Review legal documents, including wills, trusts, and other estate planning instruments.
• Prepare correspondence, affidavits, and other legal documents as needed.
• Communicate with clients to gather necessary information and provide updates on the status of estate administration.
• Address client inquiries and concerns with professionalism and empathy.
• Oversee the management of estate assets, including financial accounts, real estate, and personal property.
• Work closely with financial institutions, appraisers, and other professionals involved in the estate settlement process.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws governing estate administration.
• Draft estate planning documents, including Powers of Attorney, Health Care Proxies, Disposition of Remains Appointments
• Draft and assist with recording Deeds
• Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to streamline workflow and ensure efficient case management.

Education and Certification:

• Bachelor's degree and/or paralegal certification from an accredited institution.
• Additional certification in estate planning or administration is a plus.

Experience:

• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as an estate administration paralegal.
• Proven track record of successfully managing complex estate administration cases.

Skills:

• Proficient in legal research, document drafting, and case management.
• Strong knowledge of probate laws and procedures.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and client service skills.
• Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational and time management abilities.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Technology:

• Proficient in legal case management software, preferably Clio and/or NetDocuments
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
