Job Title: Advanced Analytics Intern

Location: Atlanta/Smyrna, GA

Job Type: Internship (Hybrid - Onsite 2 times a week)

Educational Standing: Senior, Masters

Dates: May 19 - August 1st 2025

Must be able to attend first day in person

UCB is looking for an upper-level undergraduate or graduate student to intern with the Advanced Analytics team. Curiosity is a must - students should have an interest in analytics, machine learning, predictive modeling, neuroscience, immunology, statistics, or data visualization. The Advanced Analytics team at UCB works with both commercial and medical teams to clearly communicate sound and actionable insights that drive real-world impact both to the business and in patients’ lives. If you are interested in a career in life sciences and/or analytics, an internship with UCB will give you meaningful insights into how analytics can shape strategic decision-making.

Responsibilities may include:

• Developing and validating models that predict patient outcomes based on healthcare data

• Collaborating with data scientists, sales leadership, and/or medical experts

• Preprocessing and analyzing large healthcare datasets to engineer meaningful features

• Interpreting model outputs and communicating findings to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner

• Integrating latest advancements in machine learning and healthcare analytics into modeling

• Analyzing

Learning objectives include:

• Understanding of both commercial analyses and real-world evidence methodologies and their application in the pharmaceutical industry

• Familiarity with industry data sources and environments

• Knowledge of state-of-the-art research in relevant clinical areas

• Understanding how strategic and operational analyses are deployed in commercial pharma

• Communicating complex analytical results to audiences with a wide variety of technical expertise

UCB Career Path

This internship would set up the individual for success across the BAI, Advanced Analytics, and/or RWE teams

Qualifications

• Upper-level undergraduate or graduate student studying analytics, statistics, life sciences, physical sciences, or engineering

• Comfortable working independently and as part of a team

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Detail-oriented, thorough, and methodical

• General knowledge of machine learning and/or statistics

Specific Skills:
