Job Description

We are working with a well known online audiobook and podcast service that allows users to purchase and stream audiobooks and other forms of spoken word content in their search for a UX Designer!

This UX team works ceaselessly to transform deep customer insights into delightful and innovative product experiences that drive business results and customer satisfaction. We are searching for a passionate and experienced User Experience Designer who can utilize their design talents to ensure product innovation.

The UX team is focused on building experiences that enable our customers to seamlessly discover compelling content and develop new ways to engage. This designer will help identify areas to raise the experience bar by crafting refined user interface elements, uncovering and fixing usability issues, and identifying new innovative ways of delivering the service across multiple platforms including iOS, Android, web, and Amazon devices.

Day to day responsibilities and qualifications:

  • Participate as a member of a UX project team; collaborating with UX peers and cross-functional teammates from product, insights, & analytics, engineering, customer service, marketing, and QA.
  • Seek to understand and refine the requirements and goals of projects from the perspective of the customer.
  • Work iteratively to design, refine, and validate solutions. Using your design skills, you create wireframes, storyboards, walkthroughs and prototypes that communicate your design ideas to the team.
  • Graciously provide and incorporate meaningful feedback to improve you and the team’s design solutions and perspectives.
  • Partner with User Research to ensure that your concepts meet our customer's expectations and deliver the desired results.
  • Produce documentation to ensure your designs are well understood by stakeholders and detailed enough for efficient development. You ensure that you have accounted for variations across a wide variety of devices and platforms, handled error conditions and edge cases, and defined usable, elegant, and innovative interactions.
  • Deliver designs that promote our service-wide User Experience Strategy, and utilize our UX Design System, driving product coherence and continuity.

Basic Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience as a user experience designer, product designer, interaction designer, information architect, or similar role.
  • Experience and comfort managing time to contribute to multiple projects at once.
  • A track record of designing and delivering digital products that align customer needs and business goals; illustrated with a portfolio.
  • Able to take ambiguous design problems and work with stakeholders and user research insights to craft design solutions grounded in customer needs and business goals.
  • Able to clearly articulate the basis of design decisions to stakeholders and respond effectively to feedback.
  • Uses a variety of design tools to craft an effective approach, estimate, and plan in response to design requests.
  • Experience in a range of design approaches, methods, and tools that you use to plan and estimate complex projects.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Portfolio that demonstrates delivering digital services across multiple platforms and devices.
  • Work that shows an understanding of assessing the overall customer experience and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Experience delivering designs intended for a consumer market.
  • Experience working across large teams with multiple stakeholders is a plus.
