Job Summary:
New York-Presbyterian Hospital is seeking a Coding Manager to oversee operations within Health Information Management (HIM).
The selected candidate will be responsible for managing assigned areas to ensure efficiency, compliance with regulatory requirements, and effective policy implementation.
This position requires expertise in inpatient coding within an electronic health information environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and oversee daily operations of assigned HIM areas to promote effective and efficient workflows.
Develop, implement, and maintain HIM policies and procedures in compliance with regulatory agencies.
Evaluate and recommend changes to departmental programs and projects.
Participate in hospital committees and teams related to HIM and clinical information systems.
Ensure coding accuracy, compliance, and alignment with industry standards.
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED.
Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) through the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA).
Knowledge of hospital information systems and coding principles.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Proficiency in computer hardware and software applications, including Windows and Microsoft Office.
Demonstrated expertise in HIM functions, policies, and practices in an electronic inpatient coding environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) certification or equivalent.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
Resides within the New York City tri-state area.
Comfortable working 4 days in-office and 1 day remote.
Strong knowledge of HIM functions and compliance in an electronic healthcare environment.
