Job Description

Job Summary:

A growing community bank is seeking a detail-oriented Loan Processor to join its lending team. This position is responsible for reviewing, verifying, and processing loan applications to ensure compliance with bank policies and regulatory requirements. The Loan Processor plays a vital role in delivering excellent customer service and facilitating the smooth processing of loans for individuals and businesses in the community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reviews and verifies loan applications, ensuring accuracy and completeness of all required documentation.
  • Processes various types of loans, including consumer, mortgage, and commercial loans, according to bank policies.
  • Communicates with loan officers, underwriters, and customers to collect necessary information and resolve any issues.
  • Orders credit reports, appraisals, title searches, and other required documents.
  • Ensures loans comply with state and federal regulations, as well as internal bank policies.
  • Inputs and updates loan information in the bank’s loan processing system.
  • Coordinates loan closings and prepares final loan documentation.
  • Provides excellent customer service by addressing borrower inquiries and keeping them informed throughout the loan process.
  • Maintains accurate records and ensures timely follow-ups on pending loan applications.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience: 1-3 years of experience in loan processing, banking, or a related field preferred.
  • Skills:
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple loan files efficiently.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and loan processing software.
  • Knowledge of banking regulations, loan documentation, and underwriting guidelines is a plus.
