Janitorial Specialist

Location: Richmond, KY

Schedule: Monday – Thursday or Tuesday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM (Overtime may be required)

Compensation: $23 - $28/hr

Employment Type: Full-Time

Onsite Required - Must be a United States Citizen

Position Overview

We seek a Janitorial Specialist to perform daily cleaning and maintenance duties in occupied buildings across the BGCAPP site. This role requires a detail-oriented and proactive individual who can work under minimal supervision, ensuring a clean and safe work environment.

The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, customer service experience, and the ability to lift 50+ lbs. while standing and walking for extended periods.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform daily janitorial duties across occupied buildings, ensuring a clean and sanitary environment.
• Operate cleaning equipment safely and effectively.
• Follow company and department policies while adhering to safety procedures.
• Exercise discretion, initiative, and judgment in carrying out tasks.
• Interface with supervisors to resolve questions or concerns as they arise.
• Assist in the development of processes and procedures to improve cleaning operations.
• Support additional office services tasks as requested by the Office Services Manager or Operations & Administrative Services (O&AS) Manager.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Education & Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ years of relevant experience in janitorial or facility maintenance.

Licensing & Work Authorization

• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen (Dual citizenship subject to approval).

Skills & Abilities

• Ability to perform multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
• Ability to lift and carry 50+ lbs. and stand/walk for long periods.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Strong attention to detail and proactive work ethic.
• Willingness to work overtime on short notice when necessary.
• Basic computer knowledge for tracking work and safety procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior janitorial experience in an operations or industrial environment.
• Knowledge of cleaning equipment, chemicals, and materials used in professional cleaning.
• Understanding of safety procedures related to janitorial and facility maintenance work.
